Vacherin Mont D'or


This is a special time of year for cheese lovers as its when the delicious Vacherin Mont D'or is made available.
From November to March (approximately, it varies every season) we stock the seasons best Vacherin Mont D'or fresh from France. This seasons' batch has been particularly scrumptious, full bodied and creamy with a slight floral undertone...
Vacherin Mont D'or originates from the villages of the Jura region, an area that resides in both France and Switzerland, and is made between August 15th and March 15th and is brought to our shelves 2 to 3 months later.
As a cheese is can be eaten at room temperature but is more commonly served heated (in the oven for about 15 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius) in its box, or to spruce things up a little pour a cup of dry white wine over the cheese and bake for 15 minutes. It can be served with blanched vegetables, boiled potatoes or even with our delicious bread.
It perfect for dinner parties as an entree, main or dessert
